Miss the days when these were $7 but anyway got a q for y'a...If you kids are all so into conservation why do you go to the store and buy a $30 belt with a new factory-pressed metal buckle every six months?https://belts.com/bs121-replacement-belt-strap-genuine-leather-vintage-casual-belt-strap-with-snaps-1-1-2-38mm-wide/They make nicer ones too but these are totally okey dokey. They last a year+.For the 'synthetic-fetish types' there's a non-cowhide belt - have never indulged in fake veggie belts personally.

@nom my main belt has been on my waist since I was 16, 31 years ago. It was given to me by a friend who got it from his dad, it could be 50+ years old and still looks great. Real leather and made in a time when quality mattered.

@nom i got my belt at a thrift store 10 years ago. The last one i bought new was a reinforced type for holster support and it was about 50 and still looks almost new. Also probably 10 yrs ago. No idea how i could wear out a belt in a year unless i bought trash on purpose

@Schmilsson Most old belts look awful(ly worn out and weird). I like the new ones and figger w/ all the burgers we eat, cowhide is basically surplus.

@nom Mike still looks good, it all about the quality of the leather, the holes in my belt have barley stretched.
