I don’t want pervasive quick capture for Obsidian. (That’s the role of the Drafts app in my ecosystem.) Obsidian is for *mindful* capture. #PKG #ToolsForThought

@jarango Don’t know if that’s an reaction to the Shortcut for Quick Capture to Obsidian I posted an hour ago or not, but I agree! :)Things I don’t know what to do with yet go to Drafts. But things that already have a clear purpose go straight to Obsidian. What that Shortcut allows for is better separation between different kinds of inputs for me.

@anders LOL, caught out! 😜 Yes, your toot made me think about how I capture thoughts in Obsidian. The idea of setting up an OS-wide quick capture mechanism made me shudder — it’s very different from how I use the tool.

@jarango :)It’s fascination how malleable #Obsidian and the surrounding ecosystem is, where you can get a lot of inspiration from others, but fine tune to your own needs. I have a workflow where I process what I’ve in Drafts during my weekly review. What the QC allows for is entering stuff I need I’ll need before next review. (And that is, just like you commented on, for ideas, thoughts, etc, that already have a place in Obsidian.)

@anders Obsidian’s malleability, openness, and community are its key strengths IMO. With a bit of work, it can become almost any kind of information management tool.
