@Klink St. Petersburg: wait, is this New York? Those apartment complexes probably have the same amount of rats per capita. Very beautiful big shopping malls, I bet people get abducted there all the time. Overall a decent place, reminds me of the northeastern US.

@alex @Klink It was built around the same time, 18-19th century, right after Peter I's europe-isation. Google Maps stopped getting updated in 2022, and many streets, especially in smaller cities, haven't been updated since early-mid 2010s, so you'd better be using Yandex for more up-to-date shots. I know my city has been expanded in terms of construction and repair quite a lot in recent years.

Keep in mind that Prague was behind the Iron Curtain and suffered from a communist government for half a century so everything built was utilitarian. A large number of the buildings are your classic commie block and went through a renovation process trying to return the city to its past Art Nouveau look, this is why you get a bunch of adornments all over the buildings. On the other hand Helsinki and other cities are full of brutalist architecture right out of the Le Corbusier catalog which have no aesthetic value at all.
