       @todayilearned @jpm they’re not given.  Polling places are generally churches and schools.  The hosts generally hold a jumble sale, baking stall and sausage stand on Election Day (always Saturday).  A sausage in bread (onions optional) is a neighborly way to solicit two dollars per visitor toward the Remove-The-Crocodiles-From-The-School-Pool fund (or Exorcise-The-Bunyip-From-The-Church-Organ fund).   Your local supermarket can easily supply two thousand slices of bread but not two thousand rolls.  Websites exist to help you avoid any tragic polling places that are not selling sausages or baked goods.
