       In response to #ArchLinux update of #shadow, know that you will need to change your password if you would like it to be encrypted with the new default.You can also look in the /etc/shadow file for the first number in between $-$ to see what algorithm was used last time.$1$ for MD5, $2a$ for Blowfish, $5$ for SHA-256, and $6$ for SHA-512, plus others.
