@clive Editors are constantly having to balance what we need to know with attempts by narcissists to see their names in print. If every single time Trump said something like this, it got above-the-fold coverage, he would say them five times a day, and we'd read nothing else.We're not numb to such things. We're just not surprised by them anymore, and we already know he says them.

@clive I don't expect the news media to report it responsibly, but I do wonder if General Milley is a witness in Trump's Jan 6 trial, in which case a post saying he deserves to be executes is a clear violation of DT's pre-trial order against intimidating witnesses.I wonder if the prosecutor is gleefully giving him more rope, or whether it just takes a lot to get a judge angry enough to put a former president behind bars awaiting trial.

@clive any case in which a presidential candidate might credibly intimidate witnesses or officers of the court and set the stage for violence perpetrated against them by his followers during a legal proceeding such that a judge has to contemplate tailoring a gag order to prevent that behavior is flat out unfit to serve as President. Why can’t journalist say that in plain and unambiguous language?
