After 8 days of sanding, I'm ready for putting on the oil, coach. I went from 36 grit, to 60, then 80, 100, 120 and, finally, 150. The missus vacuumed multiple times and then damp mopped twice. I'm sitting for a few minutes, with the heat pad on, before screwing up the courage to get up there and bend some more.

@GettingCooked Thanks, yeah the whole was for hold heat system, I had never run into one that was in the senter of the room and about 2 1/2 ft x 2 1/2 ft.

And, I swear to God, in the 102 years since these floors were laid down, I don't think they've ever been properly sanded and re-stained; it seems as though generations of owners just did a light sand and then put darker shade after darker shade of stain down, over the years. I took literal grooves out of the walkway in the livingroom.

First coat of Saicos hardwax oil is on. Another coat tomorrow morning. Hopefully it dries more evenly than how I applied it.
