@coolboymew I use https://vpsfree.cz/, because it is a community project, but does not fit the "cheap" if you just need a static website. Otherwise I was fairly happy with vultr.com when I used is as a proxy for crunchyroll. But that is a long time back. Hetzner looks reasonable, but I hope their network for VPSes is bit more stable then for dedicated machines (we had bad experience).For static content you can probably just pick by cost pretty much.

They offer web hosting along with a SSH environment to play around with.Those are just the free options. You also have shared hosting which should be cheaper compared to VPS hosting.But if you really want a VPS in particular, the only good one I know of is cockbox (run by the same guy who runs cock.li). For a good DNS service, though, called 'jump services' or 'subscriptions' on #I2P, we studied the different providers and they are all okay except for reg.i2p, which was giving out broken pubic keys for some keys sites.If you need more info we are here.

Such software rarely relies on means of abstraction such as libc and often calls kernel directly. That is exactly what they are discussing BTW — if they implement some of this stuff in the kernel itself, they can get rid of large portions of said VM, which should in turn improve the performance.
