Yeah I just started watching it and noticed a few things like that. One of the things to look for are "Jewishism". For instance, Teal'c talking about how "it will be a holy day for the Jaffa when Apophis dies". I'm pretty sure I heard that same line from Jews regarding for Hitler. Jaffa = Jews? Hmm...Sort of a tangent, but I noticed it too Final Space (which started off okay and then quickly went horrible). A character used a line "Salvation comes in the blink of an eye", which is also a Jewish saying. And of course, the Quarians in Mass Effect are obviously Jews, with a golem analogy. Going through lots of shows, you see this stuff a lot. It's always presented without it's source, as some sort of profound statement.

Yep, and I'm fine with that to a limit. But it's curious how rarely and poorly represented Christian (and not old testament), Mormon, or even Islamic perspectives are in writing.

Well to be fair Mormons aren't a real thing and they have enough badly written fiction of their own to be going on with. You don't notice the Christian themes unless they're done really badly/heavy handedly because it's the cultural background radiation, and you probably don't read Arabic.

I've not really noticed any christian themes in anything in the last few decades. When it is "christian themes", it's the Harry Potter version of it, which isn't very good.There are lots of mormons, way more than Jews. I think they should be more represented. Islam is the same, there are about as many as Jews (as far as I know), yet very little representation of them outside of being a tool to browbeat you with diversity.

It's not super obvious, but magic is bad in Harry Potter. People with too much magic turn evil. Wizards and wizarding society is depicted as almost nazi-ish. A pivotal moment for Harry was to turn away from magical power by relinquishing the Deathly Hallows (possession made him an unstoppable wizard in theory). The most powerful form of "magic" in the setting is "love". Harry's mom's love for her child was powerful enough to block an unblockable curse. Rowling equates this love to God.
