Exploring Mastodon v4.2: Not loving that the local feed has been moved into a "Live feeds" section. Emphasizing a local community would make so much more sense to me in the context of social networks.Well, I guess that's what we have forks and many really good mobile apps for...#mastodon42 #fediverse

@seb Also not loving the increased centralization push of Mastodon in recent times. I do hope someone hard forks it eventually especially if/when this continues.

@seb yeah, i See. I will say that despite local is not gone I must admit too that putting local and public under a live feed option. Minimize the emphazie on Community building on the server people are on. It's like a ui way of suggesting more social integrationsoutside one's own server. I don't know her if I'd like a more close server, almost as village, takling to other servers or i'm fine with a more My server as a host talk more broadly with people in- and outside of my server.

@seb Agree. I have Home, Local timeline and Notifications always open in the advanced web ui. The #IOCX local timeline is a gold mine of good posts.

@seb Seems like an unfortunate consequence of having the devs run a general purpose instance, without and community focused instances. I expect it’s easy to ignore the local tl on .social, since it’s not really got a “local” purpose.
