@amerika While an emotional reaction to these people is a natural response, meant to alert us to harmful elements of our communities, I have a more cold-hearted perspective of them: broken machines need to be removed to not cause further damage. It's why I support imprisonment.

@basileion The big point: protect the good from the bad.No matter what we do, it will not be fun for the bad.As long as the bad are removed from contact with the rest of society, however, the problem is addressed.And the method of removing them? Exile, execution, asylum, or incarceration... any method works, but asylum seems to be most appropriate to me because they have mental health problems.

@amerika @ThatCrazyDude I agree. Framing the issue in a moral context often only succeeds in impressing upon a child that the major concern for such behavior is the consequences if you are caught. Stories more effectively guide one towards the experience of wanting to be the kind of person who does not do such things.

@amerika @basileion a sign of yet another decade period we as human kind are going trough.The way i see it, people will always do weird ass shit, because that's apparently in our genes, but sometimes there comes a time when the society as a whole, instead of telling you "no, we don't effin' do that, you better learn better or else" is doing all it can to justify whatever you're doing.On the bright side though, if history is any indicator, that won't last for very long

@ThatCrazyDude @basileion Looks to me like the migrant crisis has just ended that era. Every society is out of money, has a dysfunctional democracy, is reproducing below replacement rates, has insanely high taxes, and is doubling down on failed past plans because everything else is taboo.
