       Xenophobia is a vulnerability, just like underinvestment in defence is. Remember how Belarus created a crisis by ferrying people from the Middle East. They can only do that because of our irrational and dehumanising fear of refugees. If we were living up to our ideals we would just welcome these people and they would add to the diversity that is making the strength of the European project.
