       Very true, effective language must be tailored to the understanding of the intended recipient. English is kinda weird though because it’s a balancing act:On the one hand, we have extremely specific vocabulary, but only to well-read individuals. I try to stay as precise as possible, but I’m not unwilling to dumb down my point if the message isn’t getting across.Academics can’t do this, because they’re not making any coherent point. It’s all verbal diarrhea so they can appear smart.

       Many of them are just annoying credentialist faggots who don't actually want you to understand them because that means they might not actually be smarter than you, although I think some of them genuinely don't understand the subject well enough to put it simply.
