Fuck. Not the greatest way to start the day. Managed to stay Covid-free throughout the pandemic, until today. The line is faint, but it’s there. #COVID19

Btw, here’s a photo of the same test kit, taken approx 2 hours later. You can see that the line is much darker than it was at the 15-minute mark. The time limit has more to do with liability and related legal issues than it does the science of the test, which does not magically end after 15 minutes.

Ironically, another natural disaster, Hurricane Lee may have played a part. For 36 hours, we had all the windows in the house shut tight as the storm passed over us. Isabelle tested positive Sunday morning, at which point we opened all the windows and implemented household masking and other measures. I slept in the basement. But that may well be all the virus needed to spread.

Day 2 and I am SOOO tired. Can’t keep my eyes open longer than a few minutes. I wake up long enough to take note of sore muscles and dry scratchy throat, then doze off again. #COVID19 #zzz

Day 3 of my Covid infection, and things seem.. different. Fatigue and muscle aches have all but passed, which is good. I actually slept well last night. But there are also some subtle signs that the virus may be finding its way to my lungs. My spontaneous breathing feels just a bit more shallow than usual, and even when I try to take a deep breath it feels like the volume may be slightly reduced. And I seem to get tired more easily from doing normal things, like washing myself. #Covid
