People who only know about Japan from what they see in porn and cosplay, or Vice articles about crazy Shinjuku style, don't understand that Japanese are really extremely conservative. They can always tell if somebody of Japanese descent is a foreigner (esp. Brazilian) because they dress like trash. Brazilians of Japanese descent will show their midriffs, wear skirts that are too short, or wear flip flops and yoga pants. Japanese look down upon people who dress like this. Schools and businesses have dress codes that regulate hair color, hair length, and fingernail polish and lipstick color. And school children get in trouble at school if they are caught outside of school looking like trash. People with tatoos are banned from swimming pools, hot springs, and even restaurants. People will avoid sitting near you on a train if you have tatoos, piercings, or dress trashy.A lot of foreigners go to Japan thinking it's a wild, crazy country because of the false imagry they see on the internet, and make complete fools of themselves, and make all foreigners look bad. This even (actually especially) applies in the big cities.

One of the things I hate the most about going to the gym is having to see the labia of every single girl that crosses my view. I unironically support gender segregated gyms.
