Ok so I've never dreamt of my android but i once had a dream a few yrs ago of my old flip phone. I was walking down the street and tripped over a branch and my flip phone went flying and broke and i was scrambling to find the battery. Isn't it great that even in my dreams I'm still clumsy 🤣

Interesting. I don't recall ever having a cell phone in a dream. Then again, I don't use mine all that much.

Verizon would charge extra for allowing a 5G signal in dreams and the coverage may be spotty.

Technology in general is very, very rarely in focus in my dreams; Yet I've spent most of my life studying it; Not even whilst lucid. It's a tool, yet in dreams we, usually, need none; I think we need to understand a thing, inside and out, or at least believe we do, for it to appear solid. As for a larger debate, I'm not sure.

I have one for me that may not apply to others- first, I don't use my cell phone much at all, and second- I've never felt the need to call anyone in a dream... I'm a lucid dreamer, so I just take care of whatever is going on on my own.

I wonder if this is going to be one of those generation dividers. Like how many people raised with silent films and other black and white films dreamt in black and white while those raised in the era of color film dreamt in color.

The more you pay attention to the small details, the more likely you are to wake up. I often realize i am dreaming, because my brain forgets to add some of my tattoos

Cell phones do appear in dreams. However, the main problem is that "reading written words" in dreams is, for most people, impossible. Our brain during R.E.M. sleep just doesn't work that way. I've had many dreams where I try to dial a number, read a text message or even have a conversation over the phone. In the dream, the screen is illegible and the audio from the phone is inaudible. At times, the phone just falls apart in my hands. There is a very cool episode of the classic WB Batman episode "Perchance to Dream" which illustrates exactly what happens in my head, when I try to read in a dream. The text looks like "text", but it is completely garbled. It's because (this is how the cartoon explains it): "dreams come from the left side of the brain", or a part of the brain that doesn't handle speech and/or writing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBEw_4vZ_Dc&t=1s&ab_channel=NeiFirstCoH
