Living a (thankfully) boring life, when I draw from real life, it's for small details. For example, my wife recently had her hair colored a shade darker than she wanted, so I joked about going to Hot Topic to get her some goth clothes. I just wrote a character who got her hair dyed too dark and apologized that her black leather maxiskirt and corset hadn’t come in yet.

Probably during the time when I was in intensive care and almost died of COVID. It won’t be exact but I want to add that near death experience with my MC from both his perspective and those that know/care for him.

Not a major thing to draw from, but whenever I write an incident where a character suffers minor head trauma I recall what it felt like when I got a mild concussion once.

Well, the series that directly follows The Chivalrous Welshman is going to start in the summer of 2020, plop right in the middle of the great COVID hoax, so there will definitely be some experiences there, and I might even throw in my shitshow of a summer this year. Maybe I'll even feature the house in question >:3

Not specific but related: I like to write things as I experience them. For example, if I get sick, that's the perfect time to write a part where my character is sick because I can tune in to all the little annoyances and such and get a really good description. Obviously, you can't do this for everything, but I try to when I can.

Some weeks ago (more than a month now, I think) I went to Cooper's Rock State Forest. The view was pretty great, as was wondering about the very rocky terrain. The constant feeling that I could fall at any moment will definitely make it into a story somewhere. It was fun never knowing whether a crevasse between rocks was a two-foot or a thirty-foot drop.I didn't get to see most of the forest while I was there, so hopefully the next time I visit, I'll find a bunch more inspiration.
