       Here are a couple of schematic graphs I posted on the birdsite last year after hearing some politicians' comments on the then newly released #IPCC Working Group III report. They highlight that the path to #netzero envisaged by many politicians and business leaders is quite different from what the science community mean. The consequences are not the same.Seems appropriate to raise this again today.

       @PoLaRobs Do they *like* destabilized markets and economic chaos??hm.Oh that’s right. They literally do. hoo boy what in the holy heck are we gonna do? This need not be painful. It could even be, exciting, productive… net positive— But, sure, let’s have a catastrophe instead.

       @PoLaRobs A realistic chart would be a logistic ("S") curve. The problem is insufficient manufacturing (and probably refining) to turn on a dime. Renewables are growing exponentially (>13%/yr) but they are starting from a small baseline. It's likely that we've reached peak fossil fuels already.
