       Google uses volunteers to add roads to Google Maps. if only there was an ethical, free and open source alternative. I could envision calling it Open Street Map.

       @Suiseiseki I did not make any claims about the acceptability of Google Maps, but it's the de-facto standard mapping and navigation software. thus a FOSS offer is the ethical alternative.

       @grillchen Most roads don't require proprietary software to drive on them and therefore selecting between any of the available passable roads as alternatives is fine.Writing "alternative" implies that using x proprietary software is just a good idea as running y free software: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/words-to-avoid.html#Alternative

       @kaia In my state, the main bus company keeps all the roads current on OSM. So the main tasks are drawing in buildings and filling in their info.
