F*ck. My husband and I wore masks for 36 hours of flights and airport time to get to Brazil where we enjoyed a week of healthy travel with our guide. Then the rest of our small group flies in after wearing no masks on their flights, and two days later one (a pharmacist!) is ill. Now all of us in our little bubble have #covid. I’m not happy.

@IdahoLark That sucks. At least you saw some great things beforehand. My wife just traveled 30 mi to Moscow to have dinner with a friend and ended up with it. I somehow dodged the bullet this time, though I had it in June 🙁. Hope you all feel better soon.

@IdahoLark Sorry you got this despite being careful in so many ways. It reminds me somewhat of when I got it. I had been… actually all of us in my household had been masking and very careful. But my coworker went to Vegas during heavy covid numbers, came back with it and gave it to me back in 2021. I’ve had long-covid symptoms since. ☹️Hope it’s inconsequential for you.

@pdiff1 It was a good run not having any colds or flu for over three years. It was bound to get me I suppose, but I’d sure rather be home in my bed recovering. Can’t get Paxlovid here either.

@IdahoLark So sorry to hear this. I was recently hospitalized and shocked to find that there was no mask mandate for the staff. Most still wore masks most of the time but not all. Fortunately I escaped COVID which probably would have done me in as my immune system was already week from a severe infection and gallbladder surgery.

@ted_duffield I have been utterly appalled reading how many covid cases are from hospital stays. I sympathize with staff being tired of wearing masks, but come on. Patients are extremely vulnerable. Glad you dodged it.

@IdahoLark Sorry, Idaho Lark.I'm still masking. Sadly, we're in the minority. I've been going to the docs a lot lately, but even in a clinic environment of supposedly informed people serving a vulnerable population, almost no masks, and more worn by clients than by employees.
