       If Paris can do it, Auckland can do it.I know, I know, as soon as I write these words the "no can do" people will pour into the comments with their grey outlooks, but it's as simple as setting a deadline and sticking to it.Carbon aside, raw diesel smoke is worse for your health than breathing second-hand cigarette smoke. There's no 'upside' to this filthy petrofuel.It's time to ban smoking. For our children's sake.

       So you're going to ban the more efficient engines (diesels) ... before the less efficient engine (gasoline)?...and no, NZ can't do it because it has like a billion courier services that move packages the entire length of the north/south islands. They'd kinda be fucked.Not to mention the insane amount of lithium/cobalt mining you'd need to do for this insane pipedream that will literally destroy more earth and cause more environmental damage than just refining petrol.I swear you people don't understand just how much infrastructure goes into battery vehicles and just how little it saves. Gradually shifting naturally over time, and giving people the choice, is far far better for the environment that forcing all of those existing vehicles into crushers before their end of life and forcing the manufacturer of vehicles that are really not that much better.
