Yes, i am a guy living in the #Netherlands and I worry about #Trump becoming president of the US a lotIf he becomes president again this will also effect us here in #Europe big time, especially with the war in #Ukraine going onIt's not about the #US alone anymore and we all need to take that into account, if we like it or not#Russia CANNOT be allowed to "win" the war in Ukraine, ever. With Trump in power that chance will only become bigger and bigger

@stux you're right to worry about this. USA and their foreign policies have global impact, literal government has "changed" over US comments or lack of commitment in some areas.Its not just trump, all presidential candidates seeking GOP approval have either said they will not "support this war" or didn't comments otherwise.

@stux Thank you, Stux. Another Trump presidency would have global implications. I boost a lot of US politics and I hope those who are outside the US understand the threat we are all facing. As for Ukraine, every Russian soldier needs to be pushed out or planted in Ukraine, and RU needs to be held accountable let’s start with The Hague.

@stux We need to grow up in Europe. Since our politicians are incapable of progressing otherwise and of planning ahead instead of chasing crises, we might actually learn to make the EU resilient enough that our security isn't fully dependant on Billy Bob and Karen from Bumfck County and their votes. Starting with refusing to reward the frugalest politicians in the land who promise us rebates, cuts to the EU budget and ridiculously small contributions to EU funding.

@stuxBefore T. became president I penned down my concerns on Facebook and was told I should mind my own business by a few American acquaintances.After he became president I ventilated more thoughts and was told I was anti-American.This was the time to unfriend some people because they did not understand and were not open to discussions:I wanted a better person for president, not divisive, one who would put the people first.

@stux FWIW, the American people agree with you. It bears repeating that Trump lost the popular vote twice, and the amount he lost by more than doubled. His unpopularity just keeps growing, not that you’d know that from his noisy fans or from the press. The structure of our democracy and the way we run presidential elections absolutely needs change so that popular-vote losers like him can’t win, but he’s way too big a loser to be able to win again.

@stux @anthroped if I have a bad day, my 200x 007 Bond villain genes come out and I want him to win for Europe's sake. Like I sometimes hope Putin sends Iskanders to Berlin and Rzeszow. It is one of the few places in the Fediverse where I can upload my pencil drawings without having to reduce their file size. We are worried about Trump too, not just him but all those who support him. They do widespread damage to our country from book banning to anti choice, anti vaxx and so on. We all need to stay tuned to this election issue continuously, even after the voting is done.
