I've been working sporadically on my media player pet project. Here's a show-case of the upcoming 0.6.0 version, ported to GTK4 and Adwaita. cc @gstreamer https://youtu.be/ttdwoOLqYSE

@philn @gstreamer does the UI adapt to smaller display sizes? (e.g. for mobile phones)

@craftyguy I haven't done anything special about this yet. The biggest bottleneck seems to be the controls width which becomes challenging below 500px

@philn @philn there's a lack of options for video players on #linuxmobile, the usual suspects don't adapt at all. I believe many phones have display sizes that are >500px, so that's promising!

@craftyguy feel free to give it a spin! The adwaita support is only in git master though... I plan to release 0.6 soonish.

@craftyguy @philn have you ever tried livi by @agx ? This may be a completely stupid question coming from someone who only ever saw the PP{,P}, L5, OP6{, T}'s sources:https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/livi#Debian https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/livi#flatpakhttps://flathub.org/apps/org.sigxcpu.Livi#MobileLinux #GnomeMobile

@devrtz @philn @agx ya I have, that's what I currently use. It's very basic (by design it seems) and I've seen some crashes but that might be related to trying hw accel decode on some old Intel hw (a tablet).Anyways, it's good to have more options available!

@craftyguy @philn @agx yeah, so tbh I don't use it because: mpv > *and I don't even know if it video decodes on gpu (I may misrember; but I have a vague recollection of terminal output suggesting that it was not working

@craftyguy @devrtz @philn @agx I stuck with Clapper, it's a GTK4 video player and was the first to support hardware acceleration on the Pinephone when that still required custom patches for GStreamer. I haven't watched that much on my Pinephone over all but it seemed to work very well in combination with Tubefeeder (now called Pipeline) last time I tried, I definitely agree tho, more options are always great!

@craftyguy @devrtz @philn @agx I certainly take MRs for more features (we recently gaines playback speed adjustment)

@craftyguy @devrtz @philn @agx I certainly take MRs for more features (we recently gained playback speed adjustment). The current version on flathub is a bit dated.
