@NMBA @aljazeera Crazy times, eh? An atheist, marxist-leninist, socialist republic is their ally against the corporate communism of China.Although I'm unsure how strongly Vietnam would go against China since Chinese investment in Vietnam is a huge part of their economy.

@TheSaanichDaily @aljazeera I have a relative in Ho Chi Minh who describes the country as divided with the north allied to China and the economic powerhouse of the south allied with economics and exports…China will likely stir up those tensions now in retaliation for this Vietnam-USA agreement
