@stux since where I live when we go to the dentist we don't use gas, but only local anesthesia, I've always wondered if the gas isn't bad for health or is it too much for a small operation

@stux 300 times as potent isn't so much when I'm assuming we let out a million times more of CO₂ and a few other greenhouse gases.Does the video go into this? Are we venting more laughing gas than I think we are?

@stux In the United States, all Diesel engines must meet strict NO2 emissions in order to be allowed to run. Yes, even commercial vehicles (trucks, lorries, whatever you want to call them).Funny thing is that nitrogen compounds are used in gasoline/petrol/whateveryoucallit here in the States to boost performance. One of the products of combustion with these nitrogen additives is NO2 - seems counterproductive, doesn't it?Gasoline engines aren't nearly as rigorously emissions tested as Diesels are, if they're emissions tested after they're purchased at all. Most States don't require emissions testing after the vehicle is sold any more.Left hand, right foot, vert der ferk?

@stux do you know these duster spray cans used on computers and electronics? Often says compressed air. But it is a fluoro carbon gas that is 800 times as potent as CO2... and long lasting.

@stux NitrousOxide is heavily regulated. It's one of the things your car's emissions is tested for. It's also regulated out of smokestacks and other large sources.Your dentists office doesn't use enough for anyone to bother with.

@stux Thanks for sharing! I had no idea that there is so much production of nitrous oxide, nor that it is such a powerful greenhouse gas (did know about methane). All the more reason to cut back on cattle in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark etc, and improve on our agricultural techniques considerably!
