The Liberty Safe code story is stupid. The sides of these safes are this sheet metal. Anyone with grinding wheel could get in fast not problem. Even if the spring for 1/4 steel. Not much time is needed. These safes are only meant to keep out crackheads looking for a score, not the international jewel thief.

@LouisvilleNham I went down the safe buying rabbit hole, and the truth after you compare brands, features, etc, is that the bad guy isn’t showing up to you house with a 6 foot crowbar. Lol. I’m sure I’ll see a meme about this.

@Lordimpala Complete misunderstanding of the problem. It would be 100% fine if Gvt broke or opened that safe themselves with proper warrant they had. Problem is pervasive public-private fascism that affects us at every step. That person purchased the safe, maker has no right to have ability to open it for the Gvt w/o owners consent, it is not their safe anymore. Same for your data and your ISP or Goog or Apple,... maybe you get that more. Treachury is in that intentional act/design,....

@MaleticResearch exactly. The story is about compliance.

@Lordimpala just a harbor freight grinder. I think you'd go a long way to hide your safe and place it where the sides are no readily accessible.

@LouisvilleNham yup. Sides are the weak point on steel. Bolt it down. My 15 gun safe probably weighs 300-350lbs give or take loaded up.
