#India is changing its name to #Baharat Makes sense, there's more to India than just #Hindustan where its Arabic name #Hind comes from Fun coincidence. Baharat in Arabic is the plural of of Bahar which means spice, therefore Baharat means spices.

@WahbAllat isn't baharat the actual correct pronciation of the country by its natives? If I remember correctly an Indian once told me this is how they pronounce it and this is what is written in headers of official documents.

@dragnucs yes, I do remember I once bought a shirt that said Baharat in Devanagari on it, not knowing what it was, and Indians would tell me it is their country’s name.

@dragnucs I’m not saying Baharat comes from Arabic, just noting a coincidence. If anything probably the Arabic word for spices comes from the country’s name

@WahbAllat Actual arabic name for spices is Tawabil. Baharat as used in Arabic is for spicies actually comming from India.توابل بهرات.Anyways almost all spices come from India so could refer to most of, if not any, of all spices you have in the kitchen.
