       @joel @fosstodon Well, i'm aware which problems lately happened to go in within your "community".Cutting back on the community by fencing off for non-members ... well, i told you my conclusion.Just that ... ;)I'm curious how it works out for fosstodon and the fediverse. Every instance is free to set their own rules.But such a move just doesn't look and feel right. ;)

       @hackbyte well, I don't believe we are as "problematic" as you think, everything turned out fine. If anything this makes it so our local timeline stops being as chaotic as it was lately, and is an opportunity for many smaller instances to grow a bit more and make it so Fosstodon isn't *the* place to find FOSS people! The Fediverse as a whole should grow and expand, this is no walled garden

       @joel I don't understand why people consider fosstodon being invite-only to be a bad thing. They already have thousands of users, so to make the instance's moderation a bit easier and to urge people to try using other fediverse instances, they did this. I agree and more big instances should consider doing so, to make the fediverse more sustainable in the long run. They still federate with other instances, so there won't be any problems with existing users there.@hackbyte
