If you are working on large files (e.g. specifications or simply your Emacs configuration file), narrowing is a life saver in #Emacs. Took me a while to get used to it. You narrow to the part you are interested in, then you widen to the entire file.Don't forget to enable it: (put 'narrow-to-region 'disabled nil)Then have fun with key bindings starting with [C-x n]. As usual, [C-x n C-h] to see all bindings starting with this prefix.

@galdor I highly recommend using Protesilaos' Logos [1] package which improves on narrowing in a number of ways, most notably automatically narrowing as you navigate between pages.1. https://protesilaos.com/emacs/logos

@grtcdrTIL about the Logos package. Just this morning I tried to use narrowing on a LaTeX document for the first time, and the experience was less than satisfying. I use narrowing with org all the time and really like it, but it just didn't seem as well supported in auctex. Any suggestions? I'll check out Logos in the meantime.@galdor

@asilata @grtcdr Narrowing to a region works the same for every mode. Modes have different narrowing functions. For example both org-mode and markdown-mode know how to narrow to a specific section. The quality of these specific functions depend on the mode defining them.
