My Firefox add-on to identify Open Source GitHub projects now analyzes the license file if GitHub failed to do so.Matching the infinite variety of custom licenses is going to be hard, but I suspect lots of people will be happy to help!Release soon, need to sign and publish.

@galdor Love it! Here is another one that is not identified but should be OSS:https://github.com/microcosm-cc/bluemondayI'm browsing through many repos daily and already depend on this add-on. Thank you!

@galdor excited! Does it include the capability to mark a mislabelled project?

@louis I suspect GitHub does not identify it because the file is named "LICENSE.md".Can you open an issue on https://github.com/galdor/github-license-observer ?I'll try to see if we can avoid re-matching all OSS licenses and try to be smart with SPDX identifiers.Happy to see you using it anyway, I just submitted v1.0.0 to Mozilla for official listing!

@offset___cyan Feel free to open an issue on https://github.com/galdor/github-license-observer if you find a problem.

@louis Actually thinking about it it would be much simpler to send them a tiny PR to rename the license file, making it clear that it will allow GitHub to display the license clearly.

@galdor LICENSE.md is actually an allowed file name for a license. I've just openened an issue with the reference link.

@louis Ah I understand, they added a line before the Copyright text, it clearly messes up with GitHub.Good news is that I should be able to detect this kind of SPDX identifier.

@galdor Black Duck Software (now owned by some other company) used to have a tool to scan a repo to analyze OSS licence compatibility, etc. Now they have 200+ repositories on GitHub. You might find something useful here: https://github.com/blackducksoftware.
