       @PhilGastwirth toyotas and hondas make an unintrusive beep. some cars simply flash their parking lights. as a classically-trained musician with more than a little anxiety, I’m against noise pollution in any form.

       @donsizemore I agree. I'm sure it's just old tech they keep using. Now the car can send a signal back and could vibrate the key remote as confirmation etc

       @PhilGastwirth or people could be like me: drive a crappy, paid-for car nobody would bother to break in to or steal, and just not bother to lock it.
