Whoa, Amazon gave Wheel of Time more money for a second season? I watched the first unwatchable 20 minutes of the first episode of season 1. Amazon is just pissing away all the money you spend with them.

@Dartharagorn @BoredStupid I didn't have any problem with it and I'm with you, woke stuff turns me off of shows pretty quick.They added a few little 'woke' notes in there and it wasn't a faithful recreation of the books but I liked it overall.

@ShaMcGu I'm happy you like it. I don't have any issues for those who do. Just like the people that like the new Star Wars stuff. I don't want to cancel it. I vote with my wallet. That being said... Its definitely not The Wheel of Time. A fantasy show very very loosely based on the books ok. Emond's Field.... Is not a village full of drunks.

@Dartharagorn I guess I had kind of expected that.The books series was started 30+ years ago by a white male Christian. That's not going to play for today's audience.Amp up the "women are in charge" thing so the 'woke' can stick it to men, add a few rowdy drunks. Doesn't bother me too much.Even the books had the Coplands, the Congars and Cenn Buie to stir up trouble at first.

@ShaMcGu and that is why I can't watch that garbage. The books already have well written and strong female characters. The things Amazon has put in the story only take away and do nothing to add to it. Its pandering. I thank you for a fun discussion on this topic.

@BoredStupid So sad.I loved these books. Amazing world, beautiful lessons about masculinity and femininity, cultures, power, politics.They ruined it.People who don't understand human behavior or story telling in the slightest bit.Heard they were gunna really lean into gay sex cause that had nothing to do with the story at all..

@ShaMcGu @Dartharagorn It displayed a complete lack of understanding of the premise and functional point of the nature of the world.When you misrepresent the world of a good fantasy, you ruin the story.Rave swapping is annoying for context reasons, but ruining the premise of the feminine power and masculine power.Focusing on bisexuality.Not relevant.It's gunna get worse fast.

@Pantangelini @Dartharagorn I always feel a little dumb with stuff like this. Fiction, mainly. Does it have a cool story? Yeah. Neat magic? Yep. Do people poke other people with swords sometimes? They do.Okay. I'm sold.I can go on and on and on about this stuff in the real world where it matters but when it comes to fiction, books, movies, TV... I just can't be bothered. I consume fiction because it isn't important. I just have fun with it.

@Pantangelini @Dartharagorn Two fiction podcasts I used to listen to both brought in their hatred for Trump and I immediately stopped listening to them. I have no room for real world garbage in my fiction.I knew both shows were put on by liberals, probably a lot of far left liberals, but I never let it bother me until they brought real life in to it.

@ShaMcGu @Pantangelini I did the same thing. I'm not looking for politics in my fiction or music or any form of entertainment. Thats why I mostly read vintage paperbacks. I absolutely don't watch tv. I don't have any streaming services. I ditched my Kindle for a Kobo. And life has gotten so much better!
