To edit code blocks in markdown-mode in #Emacs, simply install edit-indirect and use "C-c C-'" on the block. And if like me you don't like that it spawns the edition buffer on other windows, just instruct Emacs to always use the same window:(use-package edit-indirect :config (add-to-list 'display-buffer-alist '("^\\*edit-indirect " display-buffer-same-window ())))

@galdor Great, thank you. This will save me a lot of C-x 1. :-)

@galdor This is neat, thanks for sharing it! A yak I want to shave for myself (some time) is to get mmm-mode or polymode working for gfm-mode. I know there are documented ways, but haven't taken the time yet. This adds another aspect to aspire to 😁

@galdor And if you find yourself working with Org's indirect buffers (aka Org Src), you can do this:(setq org-src-window-setup 'plain)(add-to-list 'display-buffer-alist '("^\\*Org Src" (display-buffer-same-window)))

@galdor Awesome, it's always nice to discover the gems that one finds in other's display-buffer-alist.
