This weekend - sometime tomorrow, probably, once I have my archive - I will be deleting my Twitter account. I effectively shuttered it back in April when Musk removed protection for trans people, but I kept the account active because (a) there are still a few people there who I like and who aren't on either Mastodon or Bluesky, and (b) the best view of a trainwreck is from inside the train.

But Twitter's new ToS say basically that any content you post there becomes Twitter's. They own it, you don't. They can sell it to others, who can in turn sell it to others.Oh, and they want to start collecting your biometric data.Fuck that.I won't lie: I'm a bit sad to lose that account. I've *liked* Twitter (pre-Musk). I've been there since April 2008. That's 15 years. 15 years of me being me, for better or worse. 15 years of conversations, chats, shitposting, etc.

@GreyAreaUK I remember the feeling. Back in November, when I was in the process of closing my account, I got suspended midway process, so technically the account still exists. Fortunately, I got to change my handle to “Mastodon “, so no chance of someone else taking it over. I still miss some people especially with the recent killing of bird.makeup. I hate that Nazi man child and his little fans more than I hate #tfg.🤬
