@lowqualityfacts This true. Antarctica is actually really, really small. Maps just stretch it out because it's at the pole.

@lowqualityfacts Only because a lot of it melted, and you're referring to the city of Antarctica, Antarctica, so good they named it twice.

@lowqualityfacts Krill are the most populous lifeform in Antarctica.Way higher than Chicago. If only human population density was as beneficial to all life on Earth.

@lowqualityfacts This is definitely one of those facts that feels true if you were to restrict your calculation to one square foot of antarctica with one person standing in that square foot and using the entire area of Illinois to calculate chicago's density.

@lowqualityfacts we've got penguins, things and shoggoths. All conveniently located on one continent

@lowqualityfacts Obviously there must be billions of ants. Why would they have named it antarctica, duh!?

@lowqualityfacts this is true - all the population of Antarctica are gathered in that one scientific research base, while Chicago is huge.

@lowqualityfactsSure, but only because we measure it in terms of people per habitable square foot, and Antarctica has almost none of the latter.

@lowqualityfacts Which is why they need an efficient rail system: not one train has ever been late.https://mapsontheweb.zoom-maps.com/post/679274371986210816/a-map-of-the-railways-in-antarcticaAlt Text for the linked image: a map shows an outline of the land mass of Antarctica. Land mass filled in pale yellow, surrounding water filled in light blue. The Legend in the lower left shows a thin green line to represent “Railway Lines” and a red triangle to represent “Stations”. There are no green lines or red triangles anywhere else on the map.

@lowqualityfacts This is owed to the fact that Chicago is incredibly windy. The extreme airflow keeps the density down.
