       This is only the second time I've heard of an interstate highway referred to as the "beltline". Madison, WI residents use that term for the section of the highway that cuts through the city too. Everyone calls it that, you'll hear it all day on the local radio stations. Very curious.

       @feld @chrisod It was called Beltline (colloquially) prior to the highway.  It was a main surface street.
