       @SirPaulCouture been around helos here n there. That looks to me like the tail rotor driveshaft system was the cause of the smoke, and then it let go severing the boom. All the autorotation in the world won't do a thing when you've lost the tail.  Gnarly.

       @SirPaulCouture where are you goingIf something is on fire, there will be all sorts of alarms going off in the cockpit. I would have thought at that height putting it down was more important than flying anywhere?
