@selea i still read it occasionally. its pretty striking how shit the quality of interaction is, though. having been on #mastodon for a while now it really puts into focus how broadcast-based twitter is.it's also interesting how shit the post quality of #reddit seems now outside the niche subreddits. the only thing i care to look at there now is the LLM subreddit. #lemmy / #kbin is much more pleasant to browse.

@seleaWell, technically no one does, especially since they changed their names to X 😉But jokes aside, there are a lot of old people in academia who just joined Twitter during Covid. I know quite a bunch that are using LinkedIn and X and they believe they are doing great at marketing their research 😂🤣🤣🤣 when I feel down, I visit LinkedIn to have a good long laugh.One of them was fishing PhD students some days back on X 🤣 They get what they deserve imho.

@selea when I ask, people usually say they don't use it anymore. I still get a ton of links from these people though, as the source of truth is still "that twitter thread". People that want to tell the world about XYZ seem to still dump their info on Twitter for some reason.
