@aran @rlmcelreath Also I do not link AI with some kind of intelligent behavior, to do so would be to believe in science-fiction.I take it more as automating rather simple behavior simply inspired by intelligent life, like if I were do do another alignment chart it likely would have "conway's game of live is an hivemind AI".

@lanodan @aran @rlmcelreath who says you have to believe actual ai is going to become a thing at any point in the foreseeable future (or at any point in the future at all) if you, as you say, “link AI with some kind of intelligent behavior” (the I does stand for intelligence…). I don’t “believe” in science fiction, I just think that actual AI is still just in the realm of science fiction and will probably stay there for a long time. I feel like the current usage of the word for any kind of fancy algorithm is misleading and PR bullshit to build hype.

@enby_of_the_apocalypse @aran @rlmcelreath People have been using the term AI for many decades about currently existing things, maybe the current bullshit (ChatGPT) will make the non-fiction usage evolve but I can't say for sure yet.And none of what I said makes the "I" not stand for intelligence, only that sci-fi effectively has a very different concept and so a different definition, which is fine, words have different meanings based on context.
