How do I cite meetings I personally attended? If I cite someone I corresponded with whether in writing or in person, I cite it as (John Doe, personal correspondence), but how about if it was something said in a meeting I was present at? @academicchatter

@abolisyonista I'd bet @grammargirl would be a good source for that, too.

@academicchatter Ah I got it, so meetings are covered under "personal communication." It's cited as (John Doe, personal communication, date).

@Grizzlysgrowls @abolisyonista Sure!Different style guides have slightly different formatting rules, but the Chicago Manual of Style uses this style for citing a conference presentation:1. Presenter First Name Last Name, "Name of Presentation" (presentation, Name of Conference, Location of Conference, Date of Conference).https://library.ulethbridge.ca/chicagostyle/other/lecture

@grammargirl @Grizzlysgrowls yeah I know that, but a presentation is different from an open forum. I think forum types fall under personal correspondence rules.
