If you are using a #Chromebook, did you know you can install #LibreOffice on it? It's extremely easy!1. Enable the Linux subsystem2. In the Linux folder, create a folder called Applications3. Download the AppImage build of LibreOffice into the folderhttps://the.webm.ink/libreoffice-on-chromeos#OpenSource @libreoffice

@webmink You can also install it by adding flatpak support and installing from the command line. It's pretty awesome!

@ianbetteridge You can also use apt, but I think AppImage is easiest.

@webmink @libreoffice On my Lenovo Duet, Linux is unusable due to extremely poor performance. It's beyond me why they use VMs and not containers, like they already do for Android.

@webmink @libreoffice More steps required than described -- you all probably didn't notice cause you already have working linux environments and doing things like chmod +x of the AppImage are so obvious they don't need to be documented ...

@colo_lee I find when I download an AppImage I don't need to chmod it - I get a pop-up saying it has been added and an icon on the menu. Have I installed something that does that at some point?@libreoffice

@webmink @libreoffice probably. I just enabled the linux subsystem on this chromebook and I have to chmod. I also don't get an icon -- have to start from the command line. And also needed to install fuse and jre -- both of which you've probably already done.

@colo_lee Seems likely. I think AppImage needs FUSE so I probably set it up then, and I am sure I installed the JRE originally in time immemorial...I'll see if I can find a clean device in the office and start from scratch.@libreoffice
