Chris Packham's #BBC Earth series is just jaw droppingI take 2 big things away:- The pace of #climatechange today is way beyond normal (4 bil yr history)- Earth will resist #extinction events but humanity may not. Let's not limit our time on #earth by accelerating the end game

@matthannon it is an incredible series. I was actually quite surprised how little I knew (compared to what I thought I knew!) about Earths history Really laid out how unique we are, and low probability that we are here at all.Of course universe wide, in space time scale context, it is arguable that life itself could be statistically probable.

@Stephencrown it was a heady mix of how fragile everything is but also how robust the planet is too. It blew my mind really. 4 billion years on earth and humans have exacted such terrible damage largely in the space of just a few hundred years (maybe a few thousand if you're being picky).

@matthannon Definitely I will be watching it again. (And again). It's available for 10 months. I've also watched Brian Cox 'Universe' several times. #bbc #earth #universe
