Copyright is appropriate for craftmanship of a product not for any Art.Nobody needed to ask DaVinci if they can copy Mona Lisa in his time, nor if they could sell that.Many contemporary copies. Very old principle in the Arts.Masters work stands out in quality or not.You invest in mass manufacturing of a widget Xyz than, ok you protect (for limited time)your industrial investment by patent which is copyright for craft.
