       @amerika What I really disliked about Dan Browns Da Vinci Code was - what I would like to call a crypto-fascist idea - that your worth as a human being depends on your line of blood. For Russians: if you are not satisfied with your legacy, your ancestors, your line of blood, then do like us: Assume that it is Caucasian, then take a dna test and be surprised :)

       @amerika You are right - it is merely about exceptional abilities with individuals. But still, it can be used for a problematic discourse of exceptionalism in a homogene society, in particular when coupled with religious beliefs and mythology.

       @asktheo My skeptical, cynical side says that humans will abuse anything and we cannot control that by limiting methods.Our best attack -- thinking like a hacker or criminal here -- is to instead focus on clarifying goals.For example, I consider myself highly religious, but I am uncomfortable with going beyond saying "it seems likely to me that there is a benevolent First Mover and this is a benevolent universe."

       @asktheo How does that apply here, you might ask?I am skeptical of doctrine.I am comfortable with the goal of having an understanding of the potential/possible divinity of the universe.This will not make me rich or famous, but I think it is logically consistent, unlike some of the religious interpretations around me.

       @asktheo In the same way, I find it honest to believe that people like to live, work, mate, socialize, transact, etc. with those like them, which is a complex formula of religion, ethnicity, culture, race, social class, and general political leaning.We can harness that and make it work for positives instead of trying to limit it, and that by its nature limits its excesses (men with funny moustaches).
