The local #squirrels, apparently having run out of other places to bury the peanuts I put out for them, are now digging & putting them in my GreenStalk planter, caught this guy in the act. I have peanut plants sprouting all over my yard & garden. #squirrel #SquirrelsOfMastodon #SquirrelSaturday #BackyardWildlife #photography #gardening

@Trilobyter we have a similar thing with magpies who keep on hiding acorns in our garden (and keep forgetting them). We find at least one or two oak seedlings each spring!

@Trilobyter I watched this larger squirrel grooming the smaller one for quite awhile on our deck where we feed them. That is unusual, most of the time they are fighting. It must be her baby. And it ran up the tree, she followed it and continued with bathtime.

@jeanettepizzurro I’ve witnessed that before when we lived in the city & had a big tree right outside our living room window - it was a mom & 2 pups, splooting on a branch (it was hot out) and she was occasionally grooming on them while they splooted. (I like saying/writing sploot).

@Trilobyter I used to have that happen here, too. Now I only put out roasted peanuts for the wildlife. 😀
