@apps@toot.fedilab.app I don't get it. What real distinction is there from a UE perspective of blocks vs. mutes. In either case, as far as I understand it, the blocked/muted user is no longer heard from.

@appsTrue. For me, it's the last nail in the coffin. Ans I'm pretty sure I won't be alone on this. Every VIP will likely flee, most of normal people, if not all, will fo the same. Announcers won't like this too in the mid/long term.

@adiz There is a huge difference. Let's say you have a website where you write articles.You have bad and good comments, but also spam or toxic comments visible by everyone.Toxic, because they don't bring values and the goal is to harass.You will moderate them by banning these accounts so they can't do it again.Block feature somehow allows that.So, here, accounts fully lose control on who can interact with them.

It's more of a social media platform akin to Facebook and Myspace (*Remember that?*) than it is anything resembling a traditional forum. It's a public space, yes but not a forum.
