       @MartinDeLaToot Anything over $10 for a glass is robbery.  If I know I'm only having one I usually get something harsh (merlot, cab, etc.) since I know I'll just sip it.

       @MartinDeLaToot Depends on your palate.  If you can taste all the undertones and hints of X, then your budget is the limit.  If your sense of taste is limited to like / don't like, go for something in the middle of the pack.  If it's more than $15/glass, it's okay to ask the waiter's opinion.  Be prepared to give him some hints "I'm normally into dry / sweet / burnt, what do you recommend?"
