I wouldn't want to live my last days with Alzheimer's just laying in bed not knowing what or who I am. Nurses changing diaper regularly. I mean whats the point of that. But everybody needs to have a choice

When you are in the last days of cancer it's normal in some countries to administer a lethal dose of opiates right in the moment you lay dying in such extreme pain. I don't know if it's permitted in the US due to religious influence. But usually in European countries it comes down to common sense of the doctor

Guess not then. Most likely the society plays a role in how doctors act. Here in Spain all doctors do that in last moments. Except if they are religious. But few doctors usually are. There was a family complaining in the news that the doctor let their grandma die in great pain and wouldn't end it even in last moments because the doctor was religious. That's why I will inform myself about my doctor if I get final stage cancer

But if you have a disease that will make a hellish last months of your life shouldn't you be able to ask for a painless exit as both options will result in same outcomes only with some differences in time. Throwing yourself from a bridge isn't painless. Maybe buying some heroin and overdosing would be a option. But then it would be ruled a suicide and everyone would say that you committed suicide and the family left would have to live with that. Besides the person selling the heroin coul be jailed

They are sick in Canadas establishment elite so they allow people with temporary issues that will pass in a year or two to off themselves. Psychiatrists could have managed them trough crisis but that cost money😩

They're currentyl "reassessing." Meanwhile there has been at least one highly publicized instance each of a veteran and suicidal woman being offered MAID. In the case of the suicidal woman the consultant actually told her there are no beds available for a psychiatric stay and has she maybe considered MAID as a means of dealing with her suicidality. Canada is a joke country run by total retards at every level.
