       @tangleofsnakes I have as much turned off on my “smart” phone as I possibly can.  I set it not to connect to Internet, I removed all apps, and did everything else I could think of to make it like a traditional cell phone.  Still, I can’t seem to opt out of all alarms.  I don’t get police shooting alarms, but I get weather ones, monthly tests, etc.  I didn’t ask for any of them.

       @Cousin_Isobel @tangleofsnakes Same. All my social media is on my laptop. My phone has nothing loaded, and I do feel the tug of social media brownie points, but its simply not on my phone, and there is nothing I can do (and my passwords are not memorized, so I can't cheat).

       @Cousin_Isobel I keep the weather alerts activated since those could be useful to me, but I had to disable the AMBER alerts because they seem to happen very frequently (:blobfearful:) and there's not much I could do about a kidnapping 200 miles away.

       @tangleofsnakes @Cousin_Isobel It would be easier to set a non-weather alert. "Today the sun is not trying to kill you." Then you'd only get an alert once in August.
