       I struggled with whether to post this, but the older more experienced (ambiguous) and more involved in academia i get, the more i think it's important to be SUPER REAL about where we are, physically, emotionally and mentally. Not for sympathy or excuses, but so other people can see that openness and those events as Things That Happen. So they know it's not just them. Then maybe we can all be a little more genuinely compassionate and understanding with each other.

       @Wolven hard same about being more real especially as I get older and worry more about the coaching i didn't have, and the opportunities and calling to do something different and better for my kids and their peers

       @Wolven This is so hard. And even when you are being real about your experiences, you're in an environment in which everyone is misrepresenting themselves, so it's hard to cut through the noise of all that dishonesty. But it's only when you're being real that other people can find you, so I think--I hope--it's worth it.
